eBRT2030 arrives in Barcelona for second General Assembly

Barcelona, 29-30 October 2024

eBRT2030 project partners gathered this week in Barcelona for the project’s second General Assembly. Barcelona is one of the project’s demo cities and the host of this year’s General Assembly was Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).

Project partners presented and discussed the work that has been done in eBRT2030 so far, but also looked ahead to the upcoming initiatives and future demo site events. Each of the project’s demo sites were present to give an update to participants on where they stand, the technologies used and plans for the coming months.

Taking place over two days, the discussions during the meeting and networking opportunities focused on the solid foundation the project partners have so far achieved with a look forward to the demos in the coming year. A special thanks as well to the Project Officer who was also able to join online.

A highlight of the meeting was a site visit organised by the host TMB to one of their bus depots. Project partners benefited from a technical presentation of the Triangle bus depot’s equipment and electric charging infrastructure as well as an overview of how TMB manages its fleet in the depot and in operation.

Project partners were also given a chance to see TMB’s impressive Bus Control Centre live in person, where the TMB network is tracked in real time by a team for planning, managing bus frequency along lines, and rapid response to incidents or disruptions to traffic across the city.

A special thanks to TMB for hosting a successful project General Assembly. Stay tuned for more exciting news soon on eBRT2030 demos and more soon!
