Achieving zero emission bus fleets: eBRT2030 presented at UITP workshop in San Fransisco

In October 2023, eBRT2030 exchanged with UITP sector experts at a workshop on Zero Emission Bus Fleets, hosted by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). The workshop was hosted at the same time as the 39th UITP Trolleybus Committee and had as main focus electric buses, trolley buses and fuel cell buses.

 

Late October, eBRT2030 had the pleasure to attend a workshop hosted by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), exchanging with UITP’s North American members to discuss bus decarbonisation. At the event, UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani gave a keynote speech to kick off the day’s talks on one of public transport’s most important transformations.

The Workshop was hosted at the same time as the 39th UITP Trolleybus Committee and had as main focus electric buses, trolley buses and fuel cell buses.

During the workshop various topics were covered, such as Depot infrastructure and Charging infrastructure, In Motion Charging Trolleybuses and a special session on Electric and Connected BRT (Electric Bus Rapid Transit), with the focus on the Future of BRT network, Planning and operation and Technological innovation. Invited speakers shared the current status and future development plans of Indianapolis, Shanghai, the United Nations programme, as well as the eBRT2030 project.

During the workshop, eBRT2030 Project Coordinator Flavio Grazian demonstrated the applicability of a new generation of eBRT systems in different urban contexts in various cities.
