A new analysis on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of battery electric buses throughout Europe (EU27 + UK + Türkiye) has been issued by the EBRT2030 project.
The analysis offers country-specific estimates for various bus types as well as a thorough examination of the data and assumptions utilized in the literature for TCO estimations. In order to show where electrification is currently economically competitive, the results are contrasted with diesel bus prices.
According to the report, Finland, France, Belgium, and Greece have the strongest financial case for electrification because their TCO values range from €750,000 to €850,000 and their diesel prices are high (around €1.70 per liter). On the other hand, Malta, Bulgaria, and Cyprus have the lowest levels of competitiveness.
It is anticipated that transportation operators, scholars, legislators, and financial investors who support the switch to zero-emission buses will find these findings to be extremely pertinent.
