This June, Hamburg will transform into the global hub of sustainable urban mobility as it welcomes the UITP Global Public Transport Summit – the world’s largest event dedicated to public transport and urban mobility.
From 15 to 18 June 2025, mobility professionals from around the world will gather to discuss the future of mobility, with members of the eBRT2030 project proudly joining the discussions.
As part of this year’s programme, eBRT2030 is hosting a side event: The anatomy of BRT as a mode – Future eBRT Cities User Group Meeting. The event will bring together international experts and stakeholders to delve into the latest trends in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). The session aims to raise awareness of the eBRT2030 project within the wider UITP community.

This session will provide firsthand insights from city leaders who have implemented BRT systems, highlighting their challenges, strengths, and unique approaches. Experts from Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Braga, Nairobi, and Mexico will share their experiences in designing and operating BRT networks, offering valuable lessons for future implementations.
Session 2: BRT as a Mode – Building a Shared Concept
This expert-led discussion will focus on defining the core principles of BRT, including minimum requirements, key considerations in design, planning, and operations, and the technical aspects that shape successful BRT systems within a Bus / Public Transport network.
